Unfortunately, even exporting your configuration into mine didn't work. I decided to take a debug of my attempt to watch the file with ASS/SSA subs enabled:

Maybe there is something there that you see that is different from what you are seeing in your debug. Or, if you don't have the time, maybe someone else sees something I'm missing.

The fact is, I know the general consensus has been to just disable ASS/SSA subs but there are a lot of anime out there that are just unwatchable with ASS/SSA disabled (again, Bakemonogatari being just one example). Hopefully, this info can help with some sort of permanent solution.

I just downloaded it to make sure the link is working. How are you trying to download it?

It's ok I got it now it just said I downloaded too much already.

I've looked at the log file but can't really see anything that stands out that might be causing a problem, I'm all out of ideas I'm afraid.

The final run down of everything I am using

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate Edition
K-Lite Codec Pack 650 Full (with full installtion, option 8 I think it is)
Avisynth 257
PMS v120.412
and the 3 replacement files in this thread.

THAT WAS IT!!!

Thank you sir. It turns out, it is the K-Lite Codec Pack that was the issue. I didn't have it installed. I had the CCCP codec pack installed. I ripped out the CCCP, Haali, Ffdshow as part of the K-Lite install process and installed K-Lite Mega 32-bit and the 64-bit version as well. Everything is now showing up as it should with ASS/SSA subtitles when using Avisynth/MEncoder. Now I can enjoy my anime. Thanks again for the help.

Wish I'd of known you were using CCCP as I'd of told you to get that crap out. K-Lite is so much better and cleans up the mess other codecs can leave behind.

Glad you got it sorted now anyway.

Others say the opposite, as do I. If I put K-Lite in my PC, all hell breaks loose. As well as Shark007's codec pack designed specifically for Windows Media Player and Center.....hell breaks loose. CCCP is the only "stable" pack I have found.

I believe a pack is not even necessary. Only ffdshow tryouts.

No codecs is always the best choice, unless you absolutely need to use AviSynth engines, or need codecs for other PC based media players.

If you want to know what codecs you have in your system, you can use CCCP Insurgent. It is basically a quick launch app that scans your system and tells you what codecs, and filters are present, and shows you which core system filters/codecs may be missing.

It is NOT a pack itself, it just checks to see what is in your system. Too many or the wrong codec configs can seriously mess your PC up.

CCCP Insurgent...
http://cccp-project.net/

Just download Insugent, and not the CCCP pack.
