How do I load the AviSynth/FFmpeg and Avisynth/MEncoder enginers? I've downloaded the CCCP pack and AVISynth 2.5.7, but can't seem to figure out how to load these engines.

I've got to be missing something blatantly obvious!

Ok that's cute and all, but surely you understand that I read through the readme/FAQ's thoroughly, before posting here. I download all of the codecs and updated settings as instructed. I also searched many threads, including the two previously posted, to no avail. I would not be wasting my and your time, if that was the case.

I click the little black plug and the red cross just turn to a orange exclamation. I don't see anywhere in any of the menu where you can register/load an engine.

Now if you're reading this thread PLEASE offer me something tangible, not your average run of the mill internet cuteness. As witty as you all are, a little helping hand and humility would be much appreciated!

I also searched many threads, including the two previously posted, to no avail. I would not be wasting my and your time, if that was the case.

Two things then:
a) you made no such comment that you already searched the forum and tried the listed solutions. Letting us know what you've already tried can really help speed up the resolution time.
b) if you do find a thread that is pretty close to yours, post it there. It is more difficult to keep track of issues/solutions when you have several threads essentially covering the same thing.

All you should have to do is install Avisynth 2.5.7, install an adequate codec pack, and then enable the engine in the PMS settings. There is no loading or registering required, it's already taken care of by PMS. If you already tried the solutions in the two threads I posted earlier, then orange exclamation I believe should indicate one of the following:
a) Your Avisynth install somehow got corrupted or PMS can't determine that it's available through the registry. However, that also could be something as simple as restarting PMS and your entire PC. Also try reinstalling Avisynth and CCCP.
b) You may have hit this issue: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=553&p=2923#p2923, but you need to compare your debug log to the first poster's. If it is this issue, then you'll need to wait til version 1.10+ is released (should be soon). However, I would assume that you would have atleast seen it work once by now or seen more engines not load if it really was just this issue.

In short: There's nothing you can miss.

I just installed the reccomended avisynth and cccp for the hell of it, left everything default and did no configuration whatsoever, all I had to do is click the black plugin and it was ready to go. As meski said, try reinstalling avisynth/cccp.

Thanks, that seems to have took care of it.

Only issue I'm having now is 5.1 output is all screwy. Center speaker sound is coming from fronts and vice versa.

This one varies depending on your setup (OS, program versions) where some have a successful resolution while others are still pending. Look for posts with phrases like "surround sound issue" or "channel mixup". If none of those work out, then post back here so we can get it recorded.

From what I gathered, they looked to be specific to Ubuntu or DTS/FLAC to LPCM on 1.4.

I'm running PMS 1.04 on a Vista Ultimate 32 box (PC2D E6750 (2.66), 4GB DDR2) to Onkyo TX-SR606 7.1 HDMI switched receiver. I have no problem with MEncoder DTS/FLAC to LPCM. Both MEncoder and TsMuxer are working great for me. I'm only having the channel issues with AviSynth/FFMpeg. I set FFDShow Audio Mixer to 5.1 (3/0/2 LFE), but also tried some other settings during my own troubleshooting. I'm pretty sure that's what handles the audio as I can turn sound on and off by checking FFDShow boxes (DTS on/off etc.). I'm using CoreAVC with the CUDA hardware acceleration for the .264 transcoding.

DEBUG isn't showing any errors or anything that sticks out.
