No sound on newer MKV files?

Do you who get this to work have multicore CPU's and the multicore options ticked (enabled)?

(Asking since I have not been able to find a newer version of mencoder_mt, only mencoder.)

The only thing that worked for me is the cleaner but then you have to use TS/MUXER option when you plays the file.
So because of that you miss the subtitles
I hope someone has a better solution.

That's the exact release I watched last night with no problems at all.
I extracted the latest release from the link here into the PS3 Media folder

I don't know where the tick is you speak of but in Common transcode settings > General settings it says Number of cores used for transcoding (it seems you have 2 core(s) available) 2

We cleaned and watched that without issue at all last night as well. Great minds think alike, I guess! Lol!

The internal 720p release of that episode was broken, but the immerse version played perfectly after cleaning.

(I have a quad core system, and use 4 cores for transcoding.)

Strange. The issue I've been having with the TrueBlood releases was that they started stuttering, and the pausing gets worse and worse.
Last week, I ended up playing through Windows media center DLNA, but this week's worked perfectly, not stuttering.

Here are my findings (Running beta version 1.20.409 on Win Vista 32bit, AMD 64 X2 dual core 2.8GHz):

First change:
Replaced only mencoder.exe & mplayer.exe in the "ps3 media server\win32\" directory with the mencoder.exe & mplayer.exe from here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mplayer-win32/files/MPlayer%20and%20MEncoder/revision%2031878. (MPlayer-p4-svn-31878.7z)

Result:
Transcoding with mencoder and "Enhanced multicore support for H264 HD" selected still lacks audio.
Transcoding with mencoder and "Enhanced multicore support for H264 HD" unselected works (not verified with subtitles though). One core used of course then.
Streaming with tsMuxer now also works !?! when "Switch to tsMuxer..." option is enabled under mencoder settings. (No mistake, the PS3 now can do the decoding fine (5.1 sound & h264) which I find strange.)

Second change:

Tests have been done on two recent 720p/5.1audio episodes of different series.

EDIT: Subtitles seem to work too if the "ASS/SSA subtitles" option under mencoder settings is disabled (not ticked).

So all we really need to do then is replace the mencoder file? Thats an easy fix, and one that could also easily be done with the ps3media server installer as well.
