Does anyone know of a hack or workaround for Cinavia? Its very annoying i get this message when trying to play some screeners/r5's

“Playback stopped. The content being played is protected by Cinavia™ and is not authorized for playback on this device.
For more information, see http://www.cinavia.com.
Message Code 1.”

Had the same thing happen to me today I tried playing it with avisynth/mencoder in the transcode folder and it worked, might not work for all files just a suggestion.

Unfortunately that method doesn't work. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

just like blurring out codes in screeners, the same will be possible with cinavia audio watermarking

the whole thing is, someone needs to sit down and code something that will analyze the audio for these watermarks, then generate a small ref file that will tell a transcoder at what timeframe it will distort the audio enough so that it bypasses the watermark.

I work at a foley stage and sound is my thing, however programming isn't, so this concept would be hard for me to realize

Hi guys,

I heard a lot about this cinavia protection, but i would like to know if this has been introduced in some PS3 firmware version, or does it apply to any PS3 firmware?
My console is still on fw 3.00 (don't care about PSN that much as i merely use my console for streaming) and i haven't tried to stream cinavia protected content (yet) so i wouldn't know.

Thanks, R

It was implemented in a FW update, around 3.1 or so. I believe you are still good.

1) The Losers
2) The Karate Kid (2010)
and I believe one other movie are infected with Cinavia DRM. That's all I know of.

for me, Karate Kid (2010) works perfectly without Cinavia problem.

The only movie i had problem is The Losers and that´s it

Don't forget, alot of scene releases are now remuxing their Blu-ray ripped video with audio from the DVD's now. This completely bypasses Cinavia, but allows for better picture quality than DVD rips. Possible you got one of those copies.

The Karate Kid does give me a Cinavia message as well as the Losers, I have them both. I do now, however, have a copy of The Losers that plays but it was remuxed like described.

I'm actually surprised we haven't seen more, like Iron Man 2, or The Expendables.

Just discovered this new DRM whilst watching Karate Kid (Jaybob DVD Rip), it was copied from pc to ps3. Also muted when streaming.

Tried the solutions posted above but to no avail. Strange think is i thought it only applied to Blu-Ray rips not DVD's.
