Windows 7 prevent os from sleep not working?

I've been using ps3ms under vista for a long time with no problem. Recently converted to windows 7 x64. Now the "prevent os from sleeping while streaming" option no longer works. I have the shortcut "run as admin" already, and it doesn't help. Every 3 hours (suspend time set on my pc), my pc would fall asleep, even while a movie is streaming to the ps3.

Anyone else have this problem in win7x64?

yes i just set my computer to go to sleep after 3 hrs

Not working for me too since i installed 7 x64 on my streaming computer.

I'm using 1.20.409 and it never worked with previous version on 7 x64.

It would be nice to have a fix for this.

This happens to me aswell. PS3 media server cannot prevent my win7 x64 going to sleep. I though i was alone....Programs like utorrent handle this well. Hope to see this little bug fixed...

Just set the Sleep option to 0 under Advanced Power Management in the Control Panel =)

Thanks for the suggestion but we all know how to set the sleep in windows.

The idea is not to found a workaround.

I want to set my streaming computer with a 5 minutes sleep because it is just a fileserver/streaming server and does not need to be up and make heat and noise the rest of the time.

It is automatically awake upon network access when another computer or the Ps3 try to acess it. The prevent Os from Sleep option was perfect for my purpose and i missed it

I would also like a solution for this... my computer is basically a file/media server and .409 can't keep it awake. I also have Win7x64... maybe it's a problem for x64 only?

johell: Are you using a script on your router to auto-wake your computer? I have mine set to look for a dhcp request from the PS3's mac and then wake the computer- works pretty well.

Another data point, if it matters, is I do not have PS3MS installed as a service. Maybe that would make a difference? I'm going to try and find another computer with Win7x32 and see what happens...

As a followup: I (fresh installed) PS3MS onto a Win7 Pro 32bit laptop and PS3MS had no problem keeping the system awake and not going into sleep/hibernation. My next step will be to try completely uninstalling/reinstalling PS3MS on the 64bit machine.

yes i do think this is a bug only on x64 Windows 7. Please tell us if you found something

Personnaly to wake up my computer i have just set up the network card to wake up on each network packet. I have then bookmarked a page on the ps3 web browser with the ip adress of my streaming computer.
