PC won't find PS3 and vice versa

Postby MaaX » Mon Feb 16, 2009 8:54 am

Specs: Intel Core 2 CPU 2.00 Ghz
2 GB RAM
Netgear Wireless Router+Modem

UPNP is enabled
I can see the Router in Network Places and Internet Connection in Network Connections.
My PC does not see PS3 and i've enabled media server on it as well.

The debug.log file is attached and the traces are as follows:

Traces: [main] TRACE 18:50:54.750 Scanning network interface lo / MS TCP Loopback interface

[main] TRACE 18:50:55.328 It's ready! You should see the server appears on XMB

Its kinda funny since in the end of the trace it says that 'You should see the server appears on XMB', which I don't!
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had the same problem, but I resolved it by hard wiring (using Powerline Homeplugs) the PS3 network connection. If you can just test this out by getting hold of a very long network cable(s) and connect your computer and PS3 via a wired connection.

I have found through various forums that running the media server via a PS3 wireless connection can cause a lot of issues. Similarly some routers do not handle the traffic well between wired and wireless.

Also of course check your firewall is not blocking the connections, and that the SSDP discovery service is on...

I have the same problem. What seems to help sometimes is to get into network configuration and test your internet connection. Do it a couple of times and suddenly your ps3 will find the PS3 Media Server.
