PMS versions are the problem with movies not playing:

Postby j2048b » Mon Feb 09, 2009 4:11 am

I currently have version 1.0 and version 1.04 both on my computer and here is the problem:

version 1.0 shows all of my movies as mpeg-2's (not under the transcode folder) (they are all m4v.'s) EVERYTHING PLAYS!!

version 1.04 shows every single movie as avc- and ALWAYS SAYS THE FILE IS CORRUPT AND CANNOT BE PLAYED!! unless i go into the transcoding folder, then they play but they don't sync up (audio/video)

what is the deal? what changed between version 1 and 1.04?

why does version 1.0 show as mpeg-2 and EVERYTHING PLAYS!! and version 1.04 shows EVERYTHING AS AVC AND NOTHING WILL PLAY!! except out of the transcoding folder, if it plays as all?

Any assistance?

thanks

Computer specs (dont matter in this case)
windows xp pro 32 bit
pentium d 2 core 2.8 ghz
2 gig memory

wireless connection

between 1.0 and 1.04, I changed m4v from ps3's incompatible video to compatible video
so if your m4v is not playing, you have to force the transcode into #transcoded# folder

would this explain why ever file shows up as avc in version 1.04? If so what was the reasoning behind this?

it actually played better imo in version 1.00 when they would show up as mpeg-2's and did not need to transcode.

thanks
