Meaning that it pings when you're only using the wired gig nic? That's a good start.

Was this with all of the firewalls still off? If they were off, turn them on one by one and ping after each one is on. No reason to use this program if you have disable all of your protections for it, but that shouldn't be the case :).

Alright, since the PC can see the PS3, it's probably something with the specific type of traffic and/or announcments that the router doesn't like (since that's the only thing that has changed). What are the UPnP and Multicast settings on the Zyxel? Maybe there's a router firmware upgrade available?

I'll just post in here too, as this thread got more traffic. (used this viewtopic.php?f=6&t=450&p=2912#p2912 before)
I tested a bit today with another computer running xp, and it worked perfectly between the two computers, found each others media servers and all. (both wired and wireless)
This might not apply to this anymore, as my ps3 can't even find the server on wireless anymore, but I have the same router, and have tried updating the firmware and stuff like that, still haven't found anything that worked.
I just think the router is having some kind of weird issue with the ps3 or something, as tversity doesn't work either, and the server has occasionally popped up on the ps3 even on wired connection.
Have not found any settings that helped on the zyxel. Even tried all combinations on the multicast tab without success.
Unless anyone sees some other kind of strange coincidence between us?

Debug from when I had both computers running, 192.168.1.33 is my computer on wired, and 192.168.1.34 is the other(I think that was on wireless when this debug.log was created, also that's the one running xp).

Re: NETWORK BUG,, wireless is fine but wired is not

If PS3 and PC are in same SUBNET, no firewall or antivirus at all and system is VISTA, please read more carefully here ;)
I don't like repeating myself so at last I will post it: http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=511&p=2667#p2637

Hi, I am also having exactly the same problem (plus other minor ones), i.e. wireless works ok but wired does not. With wired connection, XMB did not show PMS server and PMS on desktop did not see PS3. No problem pinging PS3 though. I am using the same ZyXEL NBG460N router which I recently bought to replace my old Dlink router. With the Dlink, PMS worked with both wired and wireless connections. I also believe it is a ZyXELrouter/PS3 compatibility, communication or setting problem as XMB also did not see Window Media Player server, not just PMS. LAN works perfectly fine with the ZyXEL router using wireless or wired as I can share files between my desktop and laptop either way. I am using Window XP and PMS 1.04.

So, ExSport, I guess your fix does not apply here since I am using Window XP.

I know that it is only VISTA/Windows 7/Server2008 related 8-)
But when on one interface it is working and all firewalls are disabled and connection is somehow blocked, then there is 90% chance that it is due to PUBLIC/PRIVATE(HOME) settings.
Windows Vista and up uses zones for every interface if you have connected it to trusted or public zone. If you set public(it is default), then windows is trying to block all traffic from outside(and try to hide itself from internet) because you don't trust the second side(when you are connected in public buildings, wifi hot-spots etc.).
Because that it is needed to set it to PRIVATE to avoid blocking communication. Not only firewall blocks traffic. Also some spyware or antivirus systems create same kind of zones...

I don't think so.
If both(PS3,PMS) are in same subnet, router is functional as 2nd layer device = switch. It means that e.g. forwarding ports are not used!
If they are in different subnets, then router acts as router = 3rd layer device. Then forwarding ports have sense.
Try to change router with switch only if it will resolve your problem. Switch will not route any traffic outside one subnet so you won't be able connect to internet.
If it will not work, you have problem on PC, something blocking your traffic. If it will work, then check ports on router if you are connecting PC and PS3 via LAN ports and not WAN port.
If your connection is correct, then last thing to check is settings on this router if some feature don't drop some kind of traffic also on LAN ports.

Doing some other searches (around the TVersity forums and the general interwebs) shows general PS3 DLNA issues with this specific router without any real resolutions. The general thought is that the multicast handling in the FW is busted somehow. Maybe the router handles Wifi multicast differently than wired. Not really sure.

I guess one other thing to check...
Go to Network Connections (available in Control Panel) and access the context-menu Properties on the "Internet Connection" icon listed under Internet Gateway. That should bring up a window with a "Settings..." button at the bottom-right; click it. This brings up the list of ports that have been mapped via UPnP. Double-check that your wired NIC's IP with port 5001 is listed. If not, you should be able to add it.
