Postby Polycarp » Tue Aug 25, 2009 11:11 pm

I cannot manage to connect to my PS3 using PMS.

PC:
XP
2.6 GHz Dual-Core
Asus P5B Deluxe mobo

Router:
D-Link

Network is all wired using CAT5e, and works fine for browsing the internet.

I am confused also because as you can see on the third line from the bottom it says that it is ready, and that I should see the server on XMB. However, the status page on PSM shows that huge red x. Also, there is no appearance of a server on the XMB. I have read all of the otmanix PSM for dummies, and tried manually setting to port 6001, but no difference. Also, I do not have Azureus on this computer anyway.

Any help is appreciated, thanks,
Brian

This is an often discussed topic, try disabling any firewall software you may have in case it is blocking PMS. If that works you will have to create a simple rule to allow PMS through.

If you have UPnP enabled on your router disable it. Then forward port 5001 to your PC's ip.
Hope that helps.
