MPEG-TS, play the file while it's recording

Postby FlyingElvi » Sun Aug 23, 2009 12:17 pm

Hi !

I was wondering if it could be a possible setting. I have GB-PVR that records TV on my PC. the recording is a .ts file (mpeg-ts) file. the great PS3 mediaserver can serve the file to my PS3 as is perfectly. My problem is this sometimes the recoding is not finished but I start to play the file before. It works but the PS3 mediaserver doesn't refresh the file. So for example if I have 5 minutes recoded already, it will only play the file for 5 minutes. But 5 minutes later the file is now 10 minutes long. etc...

I know that VLC on the PC can play an ever growing file like that without any problem. But I was wondering if the PS3 Mediaserver could have any settings or something to be able to play a growing .ts file.

Thanks
