Anyway to stream adobe flash video?

Postby xsi » Mon Aug 10, 2009 12:01 am

Hi,

new to this awesome software.

Is there a way to stream ESPN360 content from my Mac to PS3? ESPN360 is using adobe flash however the PS3 browser is not supported (as expected) so I was thinking that maybe PS3 Media Server could help.

Thank you.

Its not possible to stream Flash application (.swf files), but it might be possible to stream flash video stream (.flv or .mp4). Only problem is to find the internal stream urls used by ESPN flash applications. Sites make every tricks to hide and block content leeching, use one-time md5 hash tokens, flash actionscript to resolve internal video stream urls at runtime, reask hashcodes at the middle of streams, webform authentications etc...

Another problem is if site used RTMP:// stream protocol, its very poorly supported in VLC application. VLC is used for webstreams.
