Your buffer is likely empty when you hit the 'freezes'. You can queue the movie and hit pause, and let it buffer for a few minutes, that will get you fairly far into the movie before having to buffer again.

You can see how much data is buffered on the main tab of your PS3 MS client.

What are your specific PC and network specs? What does MediaInfo spit out for the file? What are your settings for the Max Bandwidth and Video Quality settings under the Common Transcode settings?

A 1.8ghz Core2 probably isn't enough for lossless 1080P transcoding. Specify a maximum bandwidth of 90-95mbps and drop the video quality setting to keyint=3:vqscale=2:vqmin=3 (or farther if needed)

You could also try using tsMuxeR for compatible videos (which this appears that it likely is). This would forgo the video transcoding altogether.

So what are the recomended spec for the processor to run lossless 1080p?

Without GPU assists you'll need Core2Quad >=Q6600 or > Core2Duo E4400. With GPU assists, I reckon Core2Duo E4400 is fine.

thanks bahamot. Do you think my E2160 (currently at 1,8 GHz) can be overclocked to do 1080p(without help from any GPU), and if so at what frequency should it run?
