Tvix 6500/7000 with firmware 1.3.150 (upnp server support)

Postby wanton » Thu Jul 30, 2009 9:14 am

Tried to make my own renderer for Tvix 6500/7000 from Popcorn Hour renderer file, but couldn't get transcoding to work.
Normal streaming works fine. When i start playing matroska file transcoding buffer starts to fill up but after a while tvix just exist back to ui.
I tried setting output to MPEGTSAC3 that was in one of the other renderers but didn't help. Also tried settings that makes all transcodable files to have extension i want, used .ts extension, still not working.

Also encoded mpeg-2 & ac3 .ts file via ffmpeg with same settings as ps3 media server uses and it works just fine.

try again a transcode, then post a debug.log file, it's easier to know what happening this way

Here is renderer file i used

Code: Select all
# ps3mediaserver renderer profile for popcorn hour
# Refer to PS3.conf for help

RendererName=Tvix 6500/7000
RendererIcon=pch.png
UserAgentSearch=POSIX
Video=true
Audio=true
Image=true
SeekByTime=false
TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3
MimeTypesChanges=video/mpeg=video/mp4
UseSameExtension=mp4
TranscodeAudio=PCM
DefaultVBVBufSize=true
MuxH264ToMpegTS=true
MuxDTSToMpeg=true
WrapDTSIntoPCM=false
MuxLPCMToMpeg=true
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0
MaxVideoWidth=0
MaxVideoHeight=0
TranscodeExtensions=mkv
StreamExtensions=hdmov,hdm,flac,fla,dts,ogg,asf,asx,m2v

debug.log is attached

I'm running ps3 media server with avisynth/ffmpeg and when i start video to be transcoded i think ps3 media server tries to open my file multiple times, because my tray is filling with icons.
I bet lines like these might be the problem

I get it, the client asks for every subtitles possibility, .srt, .ass, .smil, .lrc, etc, which launch as many as video encodings (the extension asked from the client is not used in ps3ms)
this is unusual, we need to make a filter for those... in the meantime, do you have any option on your tvix to disable subtitles searching ?

Tvix 6500 had option to disable external subtitles, it removes loading of all additional files, but it's still not working.

Current renderer config

Code: Select all
# ps3mediaserver renderer profile for popcorn hour
# Refer to PS3.conf for help

RendererName=Tvix 6500/7000
RendererIcon=pch.png
UserAgentSearch=POSIX
Video=true
Audio=true
Image=true
SeekByTime=false
TranscodeVideo=MPEGTSAC3
TranscodeAudio=PCM
DefaultVBVBufSize=true
MuxH264ToMpegTS=true
MuxDTSToMpeg=true
WrapDTSIntoPCM=false
MuxLPCMToMpeg=true
MaxVideoBitrateMbps=0
MaxVideoWidth=0
MaxVideoHeight=0
TranscodeExtensions=mkv
StreamExtensions=hdmov,hdm,flac,fla,dts,ogg,asf,asx,m2v

Tried all three TranscodeVideo settings MPEGTSAC3, MPEGAC3 and WMV

This is first beta firmware for tvix 6500/7000 to have streaming support so there might be some bugs in it.

Also tried setting UseSameExtension=ts but didn't help

in the log: "[New I/O server worker #1-1] DEBUG 00:40:30.609 future: isSuccess() = false"

that means the Tvix shutdowns the connection with the server, so I guess it doesn't like what is being sent :p
I hope it's not a matter of strange DLNA attributes

and when you are streaming some mpeg files, it's working ?

It's working. I encoded avisynth source with same ffmpeg settings that ps3 media server uses (mpeg2 & ac3) to transport stream and that file streams just fine (.ts extension).

Also streaming without transcoding doesn't work for .mp4 files they just don't start :) I'll send more debug logs when i have more time.
