Stuttering? Why Not Copy?

I realized this way too late, if its stuttering why don't you just copy it? But for some reason it does not work for mkv and hd videos because it shows that the file is 95 gigs. I copied most of my videos from ps3 media server and they work without stuttering and the quality is great. Also I have 512 mb of ram but I heard that more ram makes the quality better?

Edit: Well some MKV files work, just watched Naruto Shippuden which was a 228 mb mkv file.
