What's Best Practice for PMS and XBOX 360?

Postby sangeek » Fri Jul 17, 2009 8:05 pm

I've been testing a various configuration to see what works best in my environment. I will try to put as much detail as possible to see anyone can help me improve playback.

I have tested PS3 1.10.51, 1.11.350, and 1.20rev346. all with mixed results. In my environment the 1.10.51 seems to work the best but only with 720p files. Even though the video is not stuttering in that version, overtime as movies play the audio goes out of sync. Always. With all the other version, I have really bad skipping issues to the point that its not a viable solution.

I would like to first get my 720p movies to work smoothly before i tackle the 1080p....

My Server:
Sun Ultra 20
Dual-core AMD Opteron 1218 2.6Ghz, 4GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro FX1500, 1TB Iomega Ext HDD, GigE
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit

Software Installed:
PMS 1.10.51, ffdshow, AviSynth2.5, CoreAVC, Haali Media splitter, Mediainfo, GraphStudio, VistaCodecs

Player: Xbox360 Elite attached to Gigabit Switch

I will use the Dark Night 720p movie as an example. It plays well but then the voice is out of sync with the video....
