privacy options? only stream to one console

Postby Farguard » Fri Jul 17, 2009 1:20 am

Hi,

i'm living in a 4-person household and want to stream data from my desktop-pc to my ps3, which works very good. But there is a second ps3 in the household for which I don't want to be able to access my desktop's data.

So, is there a way to only allow certain consoles to access the server's data?

thanks in advise

Use the IP filter under the General Configuration tab. Just specify the IP of the PS3 you want to stream to (helps if it's a static IP)

Well, if you have access to the router you can usually have it assign some static IPs by MAC address while leaving other addresses open for assignment via DHCP. Otherwise you're stuck for now (I think a MAC address filter has been requested, but not sure where it stands).
