need help with stuttering .mts files

I must admit that I'm a little lost with how to configure things, so I
hope someone can help me.

The main thing I want to do is to stream my home movies from my dual-core mac mini
to my PS3 over my wireless network. They are in .mts format and they are
in 720P.

I have everything working and my .mts files play, but they are very choppy (and they
eventually freeze and stop playing after about 1 minute). I've tried
to play with some of the settings on the Transcoding Settings screen (Common transcode
settings), but nothing seems to change.

I have maximum bandwidth set to 10 and my other settings are keyint = 25; vqmax=8; vqmin=3.

When the videos play, the status screen states that the container is mpegts, video is h264, and
the Transcoding buffer status is Empty.

The good news is mp3 files are streaming very nicely.

I have to say, this PS3 Media Server is a great app. Thanks in advance for any help.

mts files are NOT transcoded, so you'e left with a network speed issue... depends of the source of your mts, but a 1080p m2ts is too heavy for a wireless network

Depends on the network. Have the PS3 plugged in to my d-link 655 router at GIGABIT ethernet, and my pc hooked up wireless-n 300m (d-link 556 pci-e card). I can stream 30+MB/sec AVC Blu-ray in .ts container using txremux without issue. Obviously most people use Wireless-G networks which will choke, but it can be done properly for 1080p streaming wirelessly without issue.

If you're on a Vista machine you can try the following - helped me go from peak bit rate of around 8000 kbps to approx 75000 kbps (running wired though):

In a nutshell, open up a command prompt and do this:

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

Needed to mention that it is usefull only on VISTA systems!
I use "HighlyRestricted" instead of "Disabled" and have no problems
