Here is my setup that currently plays everything Ive thrown at it and stays in sync.

Software:
    PS3MS 1.10.51
    Avisynth 2.5.7
    Haalli Media Splitter - 1.9.42.1 (Jan-11-2009)
    FFDShow - rev3014 (Jun-20-2009)
    CoreAVC 1.9.0
PS3MS Settings:
    Avisynth/Mencoder set as primary video files engine
    Mencoder - Force framerate parsed from FFMpeg
    Mencoder - Expert Settings : Codecs specific parameters
      framerate == 23.976 :: -speed 1.042709376 -ofps 25
      container == matroska :: -nosync

How do you determine whether you have these settings?

Well I did by going to the Transcoding Settings tab

You can see all the options there... only for the expert settings you need to select the MEncoder on the Transcoding Settings TAB then click the button with expert settings and add just copy/paste the 2 lines at the bottom

I don't see any of this information:
PS3MS 1.10.51
Avisynth 2.5.7
Haalli Media Splitter - 1.9.42.1 (Jan-11-2009)
FFDShow - rev3014 (Jun-20-2009)
CoreAVC 1.9.0

Thats because all of those items are bits of software. Unless you have specifically installed them, its unlikely that you have them.

good post regarding the issues with certain builds of certain software, somethings seem a little off with the newer builds, I'm now using the builds you are using and everything works great, but like you when using the previous builds, I always had issues with framrate and av sync

I'm having a similar problem with .m2ts files backed up from Blu-Rays. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing AviSynth but I'm not sure how to get the ffmpeg installed properly. It mainly seems to occur with MEncoder and DTS files, but now some of the files with AC3 are having the same problem. I started a new thread here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3026 with a more detailed description of my problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Update:

The latest build as of this post (1.11.356) fixed this issue for me. I have since been able to uninstall AviSynth/Haali/ffdshow/CoreAVC. Everything now plays peachy out of the box :mrgreen:
