No connection PS3 - PMS. Please help.

Postby Barbastark » Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:16 pm

I have a PC with: Win 7 RC1 build 100
Router D-link DIR 655
PMS Ver. 1.10.51

In my PS3 i will only find Win media player as a media server, not PMS. And PMS says that no PS3 i found. Debug log seams fine (see below)

I have done this:
Turned off software firewall (windows firewall)
I have put my PS3 in DMZ in my router (is this right?) should i open port 5001 on the ps3 or on the PMS pc?
still nothing.

Any Ideas? Please please help.

My router are not responding. I have set the port forward in the router for port 5001, but then when i checked with utorrent port checker the port still wasent open.

Dont know why my router dont open the port. But i changet port in PMS to one i opened week ago and now everything works.

I just had a similar problem after a java update to 14. I had to uninstall it and reboot. Once I did that I could see the PS3. I was still running 1.10 when it happened. Found it odd since I just earlier that night finished watching a movie. I got the idea about the java update from another post from a few days ago. I forget who posted it, but he pointed out that things got weird after an auto java update...

Hope this helps.

On a side note and I hope you don't think I'm hijacking the post, but after installing 1.11, I couldn't view ISOs anymore. I downgraded back to 1.10. This issue arose last week, and well before the java snafoo.

Peace...and thanks to all that have contributed to this awesome software...
