Search request from unknown IP

Everything is working great! But... I see some activity in the trace log that I don't understand, below is a snipet. My PS2 is 192.168.1.176 and and PC is 192.168.1.100; so why is there a request coming from 169.254.9.169? These requests keep repeating. Nothing on my network should have that address and nothing shows in the firewall logs. Any ideas???

Looks like a DHCP problem...? Double check your NIC's IP and subnet mask (on PS3 and PC). However, if things are still working...

Interesting... my PC was already using a static IP address. I changed the PS3 to use a static IP address and now the trace shows no 169.X.X.X addresses.

You run the PMS on a machine with two network-cards maybe, its not uncommon on newer main-boards ?
Do you also run other mediaserver-sw on the same machine ?

Well, with PMS 1.03 you can force a network interface to bind on.

Not sure if that is really relevant, I'm just guessing that the starter of this thread has a extra network card (interface) that is not getting an IP adress, (therefore the 169.x.x.x ip). And somehow broadcast messages from something on that uses that interface is received by PMS. A simple "ipconfig /all" might explain a lot.
