XBOX360 & pms

Postby perfectdark » Mon Jun 15, 2009 5:50 pm

I'm inquiring on behalf of my brother and his setup.
He has Vista Home Basic and an Xbox360
PC is wireless to router and Xbox360 is wired

I installed PMS on his PC and restarted Xbox360. PMS didn't detect the Xbox360, so i shut off his firewall and the Xbox360 was detected right away. He played a few movies and all was good.... so i left.
He called me yesterday as he wanted to watch another movie but the PMS isn't detecting the Xbox360 anymore.
Now i confirmed with him that he is shutting off his firewall, PC and Xbox360 are still connected to router, no software changes have been made on PC.

So my question is, why has it stopped working for no apparent reason?

Ask him to provide you with a Log/Trace.
I am also using a XBOX with PMS in the same wired/wireless constellation and suffer no problems at all.

It is the second Tab if you start PMS.

Btw.
1) Does he have Fuze installed/running?
2) Let him try to use the latest Revision - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=919#p4642

1) nope (never even heard of it)
2) why should he change the build? It worked after being installed for 1 movie and now stopped working for no aparent reason... weird.

mmm, old bug, I thought I fixed it a long time ago...
well, it's just a matter of giving admin rights to the program.. another solution is to delete this "database" folder

Ok, so how do i tell him to do this? (right click on icon and run as admin... is this it?)

How to give admin rights? (this solution sounds like its a permenant fix, rather then deelting the folder contents which might happen again?)
or
delete "database" does he just go to programfiles/psm/database/(and delete everything inside the folder?)

Thanks in advance

yep, the "programfiles/psm/database/" folder deletion is the simplest solution
