Ok, so I copied a 1080p movie to the local (internal) disc and added that drive and tried again. The problem remains - the buffer is not filling up, my CPU runs at roughly 40%, and my video starts to skip as PS3MS struggles to keep up with the transcoding. I completely wiped my settings and reinstalled the program, then re-enabled the h.264 multicore setting and tried again, to no avail. What other debugging can I try in order to determine what the problem here is?

I have a vanilla install of Vista Home Premium (64-bit) with my Core 2 quad. Is it possible that I need to make some sort of OS setting change for this to function properly?

don't think so...
well, I don't know what's left... maybe the number of cores displayed in the transcoding settings? it's 4, right ?

Yeah, it was even set to 4 by default. My CPU utilization never really goes above 40%. :( How depressing! haha, I bought this hardware specifically for PS3MS and all the video I want to stream!

I'd be willing to try out some additional testing if there's anything you can think of for me to try. Is there any debug output I could offer you that would be of any value? Any that could be added in the next release that I could use to help determine the source of my issue? I'm willing to work with you, and do anything and everything in my power to get this sorted out, including donating you money for your time and effort!!!!

http://www.breakitdownblog.com/streamin ... -is-jerky/

After 2.5 there seems to be a universal issue with streaming HD/B-ray to the PS3. I can't stream them since the update a year ago, and I had zero issues streming before that.

Seems the only fix is to wire your house for ethernet. I bet Sony did this on purpose

I'm actually streaming it to my XBox 360 :) The TSMuxer works fine for MKV files on the PS3 for me!
