problem getting started

Postby euchoreo » Sun May 31, 2009 4:44 am

I'm running the Ps3 Media server on a P4 Windows XPSP2 box with JRE 6.3 with a single gigabith ethernet card.

I have an 80 GB PS3 with the latest patches.

When I start the media server, the debug log seems to show that all status is ok.
I've verified that my firewall is allowing port 5001.
I've verified that SSDP Discovery service and UPnP Device host are started
I can see the netstat output says LISTENING on port 5001
I had previously gotten things working with Windows Media Player, but decided against using WMP and have disabled the Windows Media Service.
I have verified that both my PS3 and my PC, which are behind a Verizon router, are able to talk to the internet.

When I use my PS3, XMB cannot detect my media server.
When I go to the PS3 media server GUI, it says "PS3 has not been found"

Comments?

I have included my debug log below:

No one has any ideas? The rest of you got it working.
What version of JRE are you guys using?

What does a successful log file look like? What version of the PS3 firmware are you guys running?

Check it's not being blocked by the windows firewall or an antivirus solution you might be using.

Also check your router passes multicast UDP through, and does not have any UPnP configuration enabled.

I tried a run with the firewall on my windows box disabled and my router doesn't appear to have any settings controlling traffic between nodes in my private network. Sadly, I still can't get the software to see my PS3
