avisynth howto

Postby psebos » Mon May 25, 2009 9:14 am

Hi,

I am trying to use AviSynth/Mencoder as an alternative to the default mencoder.
however after following the readme and start using it gives me the unsupported data error.
The AviSynth/Mencoder tab has the following:

Code: Select all
#AviSynth script is now fully customisable !
#You must use the following variables ("clip" being the avisynth
variable of the movie):
#<movie>: insert the complete DirectShowSource instruction [
clip=DirectShowSource(movie, convertfps) ]
#: insert the complete TextSub/VobSub instruction if there's any
detected srt/sub/idx/ass subtitle file
#<moviefilename>: variable of the movie filename, if you want to do
all this by yourself
#Be careful, the custom script MUST return the clip object
<movie>
<sub>
return clip

I went on and tried to edit this and when doing something this, the video works:

Code: Select all
#AviSynth script is now fully customisable !
#You must use the following variables ("clip" being the avisynth
variable of the movie):
#<movie>: insert the complete DirectShowSource instruction [
clip=DirectShowSource(movie, convertfps) ]
#: insert the complete TextSub/VobSub instruction if there's any
detected srt/sub/idx/ass subtitle file
#<moviefilename>: variable of the movie filename, if you want to do
all this by yourself
#Be careful, the custom script MUST return the clip object
clip = DirectShowSource("e:\Movies_new\test.mkv",
fps=25)
return clip

But does this mean that whenever I want to play a video I should edit it manually?

Also I notice that when the video starting to play I see many icons in the status bar (~ 10)
of FFmpeg, Halii (multiple of them). If I go with the mouse over them they disappear (as if they
are not running). Is it usual behavior?

Thanks for your help!!!

I fixed it. Mainly I deinstall PSM and CCCP and installed them again first PSM and then CCCP. Did not had to touch the Core AVC.

Thanks!
