A/V sync question + incorrect recording length

I have lots of dvr-ms files recorded through GBPVR. The only setting that produced audio in sync for me is Avisynth/MEncoder with the convertfps=true unchecked. My picture is somewhat better with MEncoder, but I could not get the audio sync problem fixed using various combinations of A/V sync and Forced Frame Rate check boxes. Incidentally, the A/V sync is not there in GBPVR's own player and Nero's transcoding, but is there in VLC playback. Any suggestions for what I can try?

Some of the recording lengths are getting incorrectly reported as 9:59'59" long. These are all 30' -- 2 hr recordings, and I dont see a pattern in which ones get reported incorrectly. Not a big deal, but should go in the list of bugs.

actually I still use the old ffmpeg for getting media length and thumbnails, which is wrong
I've changed that for next version, that should be better
