Connecting problems*****

Postby NeilAndrew » Tue May 12, 2009 8:15 pm

Hi
i seem to be having connection problems i got a new linksys N router and i cant find my ps3 with PMS, *** it doesnt work wireless to wireless****.
Any one know what to do???

My pc: 2.6 Duo core, im on a 20 mbit connection. I got a new router 2day before it worked, if i connect to another network in the neighbourhood it works so i dont think its anything to do with those things, i think its a problem in the router, i turned off the SPI firewall that didnt work. this is a copy of the debug log thanks for helping!!

Enable UPnP and Multicast on the router.

I was just having this issue last night....was a bit frustrating since it worked fine the night before. I ended up re-installing the PMS and viola. I also am running v1.10.630. Luckily I saved the install file because I have not been able to find this version anywhere on the web....it's like it just vanished..and I can't remember where I found it. But that version fixed a lot of my stuttering issues as well.

Hope this helps!

Do you have other software like a vpn client installed?
I've had problems with checkpoint secureremote for instance.

Probably means it's something wrong with your desktop's firewall rules. Make sure javaw.exe and wrapper.exe are on the allowed list (or for more security just open up the TCP/UDP connections for port 5001). Although not absolutely necessary, you can also make sure that the firewall allows incoming requests from the PS3's IP, otherwise you'll be stuck waiting for PMS to send its alive announcement instead of the accepting the PS3's M-Search request when it gets powered on.
