actually no... if buffer is growing up, that's mean connection is not closed... I guess something else must bother ps3... on some machines,
xvid/divx are played but network error messages popped up every seconds...

bon ca fait bizarre de parler anglais entre francais :)

hum yes, that would explain why I have 1s of sound just when closing PMS, maybe the stream is coming to the PS3 but it does not shows it....except when the connection is really closed?
I can run some linux network diagnostic tools, if it helps...and u tell me what I should launch, I am not a network expert, far from it ;)

PPS: Is there a tutorial or some help about building PMS from svn? As the svn repository is available from google, I think it may be a good idea to check the current version to see if problems appear or are solved. For linux users, if the build process is easy, it is very simple to keep an updated svn PMS handy for checks.....although in this case, given that the behavior is the same with 1.02, it would be quite lucky if the svn PMS solved this...

very easy:

you must have "ant" and "svn" packages, then :

svn checkout http://ps3mediaserver.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ ps3mediaserver-read-only
cd ps3mediaserver-read-only/ps3mediaserver
ant
sh PMS.sh

Great, I did try that at first but I guess I had bad luck and checked out the code just when you were fixing bugs, did an update and it work nice now :) :)

As expected, it does not fix the problem...but PMS svn seems much more responsive and fast (start-up faster, and GUI is more responsive) than 1.03....Either it is some optimisation you have done, or maybe it is byte compiled with more optimisation for my computer than the distribution is (64bit vs. 32bit?). Anyway, given this,I think that "building from sources" is a good idea for linux users, especially as it is really easy as long as you have devolopment packages already ( I guess many linux users do ).

Sounds good here, on 2 core CPU, Stutter just stay on some big rate and so big CPU work load.
I have to use the 'pause method' at the begining of my movie, and thing sounds good after.
But I can't test it on big files... so don't know if this 'pause method' could close the issue.
In any case, Linux still better when it's correctly installed. ;) mine is not so good cause no time.

Ciao.
