How do I set the icon in my Samsung TV's Sources list?

Postby dennisday » Sat Aug 22, 2015 8:08 pm

My television is a Samsung 40D6300 L television. It has a wired connection to my network. I am running PS3MS on a linux (Ubuntu 14.04) headless server. I know for a fact the renderer used is the SamsungAllShare.conf renderer. I have defined the I have defined the icon for the renderer using the following line in the renderer.

Code: Select all
RendererIcon=MollyIcon.jpg

MollyIcon.jpg is located in the same directory as the renderer itself.
I have even tried copying the graphic to the /videos/ directory and modified the renderer as follows:
Code: Select all
RendererIcon=/videos/MollyIcon.jpg

Molly is the name of my server in case anyone is wondering. I can get my Samsung S4 to show the proper icon using ginkgoDlna (a DLNA client for android). No matter what I do I can not seem to get the icon to show up in the Sources list on my TV. My Windows computers both have Windows Media Player and they both show up in the Source list (with icons).

Is there something outside of PS3MS that the TV looks for?
Currently running PMS 1.90.1 on Ubuntu (Linux) 14.04.

The RendererIcon is the Icon that represents your renderer(TV) in your PMS GUI server.
This thread will help you, I guess.
