ffmpeg and subtitles (H.265)

Postby paoloalby » Tue Oct 28, 2014 5:49 pm

hi,
I recently have updated the ffmpeg inside PS3 Media Server (Windows PC), because I wasn't able to stream H.265 movies on my Playstation 3.

Now, I can stream it without any lag or problem.
Well, I have ONE problem: subtitles inside the .mkv files won't show up! Nor forced, nor regular .. any kind of subtitles inside the .mkv.

Other files, h264, or external .srt works as usually.
But it's like PSM is not able to extract the subtitles inside the h265 movie.

If I enter in the #Transcode folder, I can see the varius "files" will be played, with the different codecs.
And near the ffmpeg files, subs are listed (ita, eng, forced, regular), but when I press X to play the movie, no subs.

Anyone can help me, plese ?

Hi,
Could you please explain how did you update the ffmpeg inside PS3 Media Server to stream H.265 movies on Playstation 3?
I have tried myself to update the ffmpeg but I cannot stream H.265 movies on my Playstation 3.
Thank you.

PS3 doesn't support h.265 so I don't believe anybody can stream them. Also MKV files are not supported on PS3 so PMS have to remux files to .TS or transcode them (.mpg) to support subtitles.
There is no other way due to lack of support on PS3 side.

How is it possible then that paoloalby says that he can stream h.265 movies to his Playstation3 but has problems with the movies that comes with subtitles inside?
