sun.java2d.Disposer and no mencoder

Postby devanl » Sun Apr 12, 2009 7:25 pm

Hello,

I'm running Ubuntu Heron Server and noticed the following error in the trace logs while I navigate folders using the PS3. I'm guessing this has something to with thumbnails?

Code: Select all

PMS is running in console mode as such:
Code: Select all
GUI environment no available

Could this be why I have no thumbnails? Also there appears to be a problem between PMS and mencoder. Videos playback fine with tsMuxer, but with mencoder I get:
Code: Select all
[Thread-1851] TRACE 12:11:58.904 Starting transcode/remux of Eq.mp4
[Thread-1867] TRACE 12:12:11.349 Starting transcode/remux of Eq.mp4

with the playstation eventually failing to playback comlplaining that the file is corrupt.

Mencoder appears to be able to transcode files on its own outside of PMS. Does a lack of processing speed ever result in this error? I am running with dual 1.2 Ghz CPUs and mencoder compiled to support multi-threading.
I think its probably because the GUI has never run (always console mode) but I created a PMS.conf in the same directory and added the line "nbcores = 2" attempting to tell PMS this in case its needed for spawning the transcoder.

Thanks,
Devan
