Subtitles without Video Files Engine

Postby PMS_Addict » Tue Dec 17, 2013 12:09 am

Hi Guys,

I have been using PMS for 2 years now and it has worked for me amazingly.

Now just want to ask whether this would be possible:

Since I am using PS3 in my room as well as Philips LED with DLNA and Xbox 360 in my living area. I am always downloading and watching movies which are 1080P MP4 format. So I have decided to turn off all of the "Video Files Engine" (ex. Mencoder, AviSynth etc.) since this is working for me great without any lag and I can even forward the movies at ease.

Now the thing that seeking help for is that, would I be able to play this movies with external subs (.srt) even all my "Video Files Engine" are turned off?

Transcoding (which uses the engines) is required for subtitle support. Check the Help tab in the program or the FAQ linked at the top of this page for more general information on how to use PMS.
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.
