Problems after network change (Airport Extreme)

Postby sergiobz » Mon Dec 02, 2013 2:49 am

I, please, can anyone help me?

I had a setup that was:
2 Machines (one windows 7 and other windows 8), connected trough LAN to the PS3, using a TL-WR1043ND Router. Everything works fine on this setup.

Then, I move for a different house, and PS3 was in the hall. TO connect the PS3 to PSM, now I use:

Windows 7 and Windows 8 -> LAN -> Airport Extreme (Connected to ISP trough WAN) -> LAN -> TL-WR1043ND -> LAN -> PS3.

Since I have changed to this new setup, with Airport Extreme, PSM stopped to work. I already disabled all firewalls from Windows and from routers.

I think the problem is between TL-WR1043ND and Airport Extreme, because when I enable PSM, one windows can see each other media server.

All other streaming services and everything else work. Only PSM not work. Can please anyone give me any help? I really don't know what more to do.

Follow the log (But this do not say too much).

Re: Problems after network change (Airport Extreme)

Follow the FAQ, although it's most-likely just a subnet issue - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3507&start=10#pms-pms_faq_connectivity_subnet
You'll need to make sure your home network is properly setup, i.e. bridge the two routers. The details for that are outside the scope of this forum, but you should be able to Google it fairly easily - http://compnetworking.about.com/od/rout ... etwork.htm
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.

It is not a subnet problem.

All my devices on the network can PING each other.

Computers, tablets, mobiles, ps3, ps4.

Everything.

Still trying to fix.

Any idea?

FYI, looks like any kind of setup or security in Airport Extreme.

I put my PC with PMS in the LAN port, disabled the second router, and connected the PS3 in the wireless network from the Airport Extreme.

Still not able to stream.

Anyone already had this kind of issue?

Well,

My Bad, it is not a network problem. Is a windows 8 firewall problem.

When I disable Firewall, works like a charm. But enabled, even with the exception rules for PMS, does no twork.

Any hint?

Per the FAQ, you need to allow javaw.exe. Just allowing the PMS executable is not sufficient.
Not sure what changed in your firewall config between your old setup and your new setup.
