DTS settings over ps3 media server

Postby jfafoutis » Thu Oct 10, 2013 1:31 pm

Hi

I have connected my ps3 directly to my pc through a 1000 mb/s lan adapter
my ps3 is connected through hdmi to my lcd tv for video
my ps3 is connected through optical to my home cinema (capable of dts, and dolby digital)
when i am playing a high definition movie 1080p dts, the video is perfect but in the upper screen of ps3 player, it says 5.1 Dolby Digital. the sound is ok
when i set to ps3 media configuration ''keep dts etc'' in the upper screen of ps3 player, it does not say dts? is it real? do i have dts sound with my home cinema
what is the optimal audio setting in order to enjoy dts ?
thank you

If you check the option 'keep dts in stream', the ps3 won't know it's DTS (it displays 2 channel LPCM), but your receiver will get a DTS signal.
If you always wanted to have your most recent videos at the top of the folder in the ps3 or wished you could group all videos with the same genre in one folder, have a look at pms-mlx

what about the other options :

Keep AC3 tracks (no rencode... etc), what is this, is there any conflict with dts
And last question USE LPC for audio? what is this ? Sorry for all these questions
