Vote to Re-Add "Switch to tsmuxer" back!

Postby Nitz369 » Mon Aug 05, 2013 3:32 am

I know there is a solution to go back to version 1.81, but why?

I LOVED PMS just for this reason, it is the ONLY DLNA Server that does this. Without this option I guess I will have to try some other software packages. I have Gigabit network and plenty of CPU but why why why do I always have to transcode when there is a viable solution. I had my Subtitle preferences all setup and everything was perfect.

Anyone else with me to bring this back???

I am under the impression that it is restored in PMS 1.90.0.

Tsmuxer is restored but the option to automatically switch from mencoder to tsmuxer is still not there

that was removed because of compatibility issues, maybe the option can be readded but unticked by default instead of ticked by default.

Agree. Main problem with MEncoder/tsMuxeR automatic switching was that PMS tagged file for DLNA that it is MPEG2 but in reality when switching to tsMuxer was applied final file was H.264.
In this case PMS used incorrect "DLNA.ORG_PN=example_AVC_TS_HD_24_AC3_T;DLNA.ORG_OP=01" values which broke compatibility for most renderers.
In PMS alternative build it was fixed and tsMuxer autoswitching engine was left there and it works! 8-)
I am not sure if all the bugs (OP and PN incorrect values) were fixed but found that OP bug was already fixed.

Revealing autologic (tsMuxeR autoswitchig) is a step forward, mainly when it will not be enabled by default so nobody can't complain that it doesn't work as expected.
