how to stream subs in *.en format?

Hello and I thank you for your help ahead of time.

My problem is I don't know how to stream subs that are in .en format.

I went to a website to download the subtitles but now I don't know how to stream them. It works on my PC through VLC so I know the subs work but I cannot figure it out with Media Server.
