I have an m3u playlist created in WMP11 containing approx. 3500 tracks on my Windows Home Server v1 that contains a mixture of mp3 and flac files (mostly flac). I just want a method of random play of my music collection.
1. the flac files result in an on screen message "The data type is not supported". This is rubbish since the media server can play these files when selecting them from source. So I'm assuming there's something wrong with the m3u file, but what?
2. the WHS, PS3 and my TV are all connected by a gigabit switch and yet speeds are estimated by PS3MS as being around 43Mb for the TV.
3. javaw.exe uses huge amounts of RAM. Upwards of 500,000Kb and it just climbs and climbs dragging my WHS to a halt until I kill the process. Or I get a "network error has occurred. (80710732).
The debug log file shows loads of lines where it's loading in the playlist, why isn't this cached?
So what am I doing wrong please?
