no encoding (direct streaming) issue

Postby bryantm » Tue Jun 04, 2013 11:27 pm

Since the PS3 can play mp4's natively, shouldnt these always appear playable as via "no encoding"?

When I use my mediaserver (running 1.81.0 headless on ubuntu server 13.04), my mp4's show up default playable via tsmuxer. When I use PMS from my windows machine, it defaults to the no encoding. I'm not sure what the difference is.

For some reason my movies stutter with tsmuxer, but play just fine via direct streaming, and I'm confused why its not defaulting to "no encoding."

Any ideas? I realize I can force it via this setting: StreamExtensions =mp4 in the PS3 rendering config, but because it works without this change on windows, I figure I must be able to get it to do so on Linux
