Mpeg2 FPS issues

Postby izusaga » Sat May 18, 2013 6:25 pm

Greetings,

I use MakeMKV and PMS. Blu-ray rips play flawlessly, however I've spent months struggling with trying to figure out why I cannot get regular DVD's (which play as MPEG-2) to play correctly. I've tried just about every combination of settings I can muster including searching the forums for extended periods of times and viewing multiple threads to no avail.

The symptoms:
- Video is sped up and has artifacts/pixelation. ONLY on MPEG2 DVD's. A/V sync methods and forced frame-rates make no difference.

I would really appreciate some help understanding what I should try. I've used every version of PMS from 1.2 to 1.8.1.

I have double and triple checked existing threads. No solution forthcoming.

Relevant troubleshooting information:
- I5-3450S, 8GB RAM, Win7 64-bit. PMS 1.81.0
- Streaming to a PS3 over gigabit Ethernet
- Have tried prioritizing all available transcoders
- Video is too fast for the audio and has visible artifacts/pixelation when listed as MPEG-2 in PMS
- Happens on ALL regular DVD's ripped through MakeMKV

For asynch DVD ISO playback, there's a known issue - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16580
But since you're reencoding the DVDs, you need to provide more information - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=496 (#6 and #7)
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.
