Playing HD FLACs

Postby Mikas » Thu Apr 11, 2013 1:26 am

Sorry if this was already answered elsewhere, but I've ran some queries and didn't find what I was looking for.
It seems most PMS users use it mainly for multi-channel HDMI output.
I guess I'm old school and want it only for 2 channel, but in the higher resolution possible. :)

I'm using PMS mainly to stream HD audio files. I've some high resolution FLACs that I would like to send them to the PS3 the best way possible.
So far, I can only play them if I check the Automatic audio resampling to 44.1 or 48KHz on the Audio Files Engines. Otherwise I get either file corrupted or media not supported.
...but that way, the resolution goes down to 48KHz, which is not what I want.

Here's an example:

Is there any way to have PMS streaming the full resolution?
I have the PS3 S/PDIF successfully connected to a DAC at 176.4KHz, but there's no point getting it down to 48KHz and upsampled again.
The idea is getting as many info as possible into PS3 - That's the purpose for HD FLACs.

Thanks for any help.

There is a way to get them stream in HD to the ps3, you have to do the playback from the video section of the XMB, but sadly there was some changes along the development of PMS, that broke that function, some claim it is working now, but I keep getting an error, I hope someone steps in and tell us how it must be done.

By the way I used that function successfully in older versions of PMS, and it worked great, I love to playback music from the ps3, it has a great output quality, and the bitsetting options in audio gets it better.
ExSport is maybe the person that can help with this.
