Problem loading .MKVs with subs

Postby GustavoSavarego » Sun Apr 07, 2013 11:08 pm

Hi, I use PMS with my PS3 for a long time without any problems, until yesterday. All of a sudden it stopped playing .MKVs with subtitles. The same file works fine without the subtitles.

Intel Core i5-2430M
6GB RAM
Windows 7 64bit
PMS 1.80.0
Streaming to a PS3
PC <-100mbps-> TP-link TL-WR740N Router <-100mbps-> PS3
Using MEncoder

Here is the debug.log

Weird thing is that PMS loads subtitles twice? Never spotted similar behavior:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\win32\mencoder.exe" -ss 0 "C:\Users\Gustavo\Videos\Filmes\Django Unchained 2012 1080p Blu-ray Remux AVC DTS-HD MA 5.1 - KRaLiMaRKo\Django Unchained.mkv" -msglevel statusline=2 -oac lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=mpeg2:muxrate=500000:vbuf_size=1194:abuf_size=64 -ovc lavc -channels 6 -lavdopts debug=0:threads=4 -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=mpeg2video:acodec=ac3:abitrate=640:threads=4:keyint=5:vqscale=2:vqmin=3 -ass -ass-color ffffff00 -ass-border-color 00000000 -ass-font-scale 1.0 -font C:\Windows\Fonts\Arial.ttf -ass-force-style FontName=C:\Windows\Fonts\Arial.ttf,Outline=1,Shadow=1,MarginV=10 -noflip-hebrew -fontconfig -subcp cp1252 -sub "C:\Users\Gustavo\Videos\Filmes\Django Unchained 2012 1080p Blu-ray Remux AVC DTS-HD MA 5.1 - KRaLiMaRKo\Django Unchained.srt" -ofps 24000/1001 -sub "C:\Users\Gustavo\Videos\Filmes\Django Unchained 2012 1080p Blu-ray Remux AVC DTS-HD MA 5.1 - KRaLiMaRKo\Django Unchained.srt" -lavdopts fast -mc 0 -noskip -af lavcresample=48000 -srate 48000 -o c:\testfile.mpg

Go to CMD (command prompt) and copy-paste this command there. It should start transcoding your file to c:\testfile.mpg
After e.g. 30sec stop it by "CTRL+C". Is file playable? Generated MEncoder some errors?
I don't know what will do with MEncoder when subs are defined twice but I suppose it should not be problem because last one will override first one? Anyway worth to try it manually if file will be generated and will be playable and with subs. If file will play but not subs, try to delete red part if it helps.

The testfile is playable and with subs. I didn't have to remove anything from the command you posted.

So the correct file is generated. weird that your renderer refused it. Maybe it is due to incorrect mime type or dlna.org_PN sent to renderer.
Is generated file streamable on same renderer? Sometimes renderers are not so good when playing "corrupted" files against computers which don't have problems also with corrupted ones which PC replays flawlessly.
