Renderer not found

So guys, I was using PSM on Vista, but then my computer crashed, and I had to get a new harddrive, and they kindly installed Windows 7 for me as well. Ever since then, it's never worked. I managed to get it unstuck from 'Searching for renderers' today, but I still have that glaring red X, and I can't seem to figure out how to make it work. I've been reading up on stuff, and I just cannot figure it out. Anything I try doesn't work.

I feel like I'm doing something extremely stupid, and obvious, but I just can't see it.

I just had the same issue, turns out under control panel-networking and Internet-networking and sharing it say "view your active network" it was set to "public" not "home" made this change and all is well. hope this helps
