Video skips - audio "makes noises"

When starting a movie, either a terrible robot-like noise starts, or the summing sound you get from a tv that doesn`t find the channel. The video also skips. This happens with mkv files; not mp4 and avi. Which default settings need to be changed, to correct these errors?

Thanks for taking the time to help.

I set the transcoding to 400, as suggested in another thread, and that fixed the problem. I noticed some issues on one movie afterwards, but after some rewinding/forwarding, it disappeared.

The "L+R" and "Normal +0" settings at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3507&start=30#p52531 fixed the audio problems.
