PS3 there are no titles

My PS3 is connected to my ps3 via ps3 media server. When i go into my videos folder on the PS3 it keeps saying "there are no titles".
I have checked that firewall is off, I am in videos not music or photos, everything is correctly connected to the network and internet, the correct location of the videos is set, and i have updated my ps3.
I had this problem a few weeks back and i managed to fix it i just don't remember how. Nothing has changed since then, all settings, programs, devices etc are the same.
