PS3 media server stuttering, skipping all movies

8gb ram
windows8 64bit
wired
PS3 slim, wired

Well it seems since i upgraded to Windows8, that the ps3media server went to shit. I was on 1.70.1 and now to 1.72 version but all movies no matter if its avi to mkv all stutter and skip and play like its fast forwarding. The server settings are the same as before and haven't changed any home network gear. any thoughts?
