Certain .mkv videos not playing

So I'm fairly new to PS3 media server, but I love how easy it is to set up and everything, but I'm having a problem playing some .mkv's. I tried playing a 720p .mkv file and it worked fine, but when I try to play any of my 3 lord of the rings extended .mkv's (~25GB each), I get the error 'This content cannot be played. (800288E1). I got the following error in the 'traces' - INFO 2013-01-31 23:08:50.266 [mencoder.exe-5] Process C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\win32\mencoder.exe has a return code of -1073741819! Maybe an error occurred... check the log file. Since it can play a 720p blu ray .mkv just fine and not the LOTR .mkv's, I assume there's some configuration problem. I'll post the specs/other required information below.


Specs: i7 930 @3.8GHz, 6Gb Ram, Windows 8 x64 Professional, PMS 1.72.0

Lastly, I tried to force disable subtitles, but that didn't fix the problem. I think my issue might be related to this viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3003, but still, I forced disabled the subtitles, so I don't know. Same error code on 1080p .mkv's though. I tried -noass:: and that didn't help either. Deleting the subtitle files alltogether still didn't help.
