Need an advice with transcoding .mkv with external audio

Postby xTumaNx » Thu Jan 10, 2013 11:08 am

Hi all!

At first, I want to say, that PMS dev team is doing a really great thing. Thank you, guys!
I'm using PMS 1.71 on Ubuntu Server 12.10 x64 with transcoding enabled for my PS3. And almost everything works just fine exept one little thing. I have some .mkv videos and external audio tracks for them in .mka format in the same folder. But when I watcing that videos through PS3 I can't switch sound to that external track. When played on Windows with Media Player Classic Homecinema, that track exist in video settings and I can switch to it. So, question is, does PMS support .mkv transcoding with external audio attached, and if it does, what I need to do to enable it?

I'm pretty sure external audio tracks are not supported. You should be able to use something like the mkvtoolnix to embed the track though...
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.
