Automatic scan performed by LG TV ends on outofmemory

Postby nesc » Thu Dec 20, 2012 8:55 am

Hi,

I have my PS3 system connected to the PS3 media server for a while and everything works ok for a long time (current version of the PS3 media server is 1.72)

But now i bought a LG-55LM860V TV (Renderer LG Smart TV Upgrader identified by the PS3 media server) and now i got a lot of problems when the TV is ON. I think that my TV is scanning all my PS3 media contents, and i have a lot of pictures in the PC, and after a while i get a lot of outofmemory exceptions when the system is reading each picture (i get a outofmemoryexception for each picture normaly when the process reaches the 800megas of memory):
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

The question is what can i do to avoid this, i know that i can block the IP of the TV, ok that will work (using the whitelist and not put the ip of the tv on this list right) but i don't want to loose the feature of seeing PS3 media server contents on the TV, what can i do, i already try to block the access of the TV to the PS3 media server but i think that it ignores my configuration... can i block scan of pictures only?

Thanks

Raise your heap size. How to do it is described in FAQ.
How many photos do you have in one directory? Or it realy scan all shared folders and subfolders? :|

yes i thought about that too but it is all my directories and sub directories, and i think that i don't have enough memory available.... they are a lot of pictures, years and years of that...

does not help i already increase memory and the same occur... the problem i think is that the tv is scanning all the contents of the ps3 media server, and i do not know how to stop this, neither on tv side or ps3 media server side.. (if i blacklist the tv everything works fine)
