Sony BraviaEX.conf TranscodeExtensions

I finally discovered why my Sony Bravia EX tries to transcode almost everything, and I havo to force it not to do so, completely ignoring the "skip transcode" extensions in "Transcoding settings".

Someone really has to explain me why the .conf file has this "almost everything on the earth list" in TranscodeExtensions!
It also conflicts with many of them being explicitly declared as supported in the next section...

I have been having the exact same problem with Both my BRAVIA EX's, I don't get this problem when using PMS V1.51.0 But that has other issues with large numbers of files crashing the server, I have tried using the BraviaEX.conf from PMS 1.51.0 and this does not work either as it seems to be still transcoding everything

Another issue I seem to have with both v1.70 & v1.72 is that whenever I quit & re-open the application I have to disable all the transcoding options as this part of my preferences are not being saved

Can I ask how you managed to force non-transcoding?

just put a # infront of those lines like that then it will stream what is supported, the problem is sometimes a file might be incompatible on the tv thats why everything is set to transcode so then its the most compatible. basically i have a HX model and i stream mp4 and mpg transcode the rest and dont have any issues but with avi i would have problems so i transcode those so it works all the time.

it used to work but doesn't anymore im 100% sure (it actually stoped quite some time ago im guessing 1.60 somewhere). you need to hash those lines so the bottom mediainfo stuff would work.

also make sure you also # out the mp4 line if your ex model doesnt support mp4. some ex do some dont. i guess a better fix would be to # out transcode line and # out mp4 so that it would just transcode mkv/mp4 since all ex models support avi/mpg.

the config below would just transcode mp4/mkv (some other formats def not supported) instead of transcoding everything like it does with the official BraviaEX.conf.

ive actually got a bravia hx and have made the braviahx.conf similiar to this with a #'d out transcode line though ive tested it 100% and it was added to the official build some time ago. if you guys test this out we can most likely get the devs to add it to the official build.
