PS3 Media Server

I'm having exactly the same issue if you can point me in the right direction. What's this shark plugin?

If I play the mkv file on my laptop the subtitles are present.

As soon as I stream to my ps3 they disappear. I've tried changing some of the subtitle options but none make a difference. I tried running the mkv file from the transcode folder on my ps3 which worked but then it caused my buffer to go through the roof and stopped the streaming.

Any ideas?

1. Intel i5 M480 @ 2.67ghz
8gb ram
PMS version 1.70.1

2. Streaming to PS3

3. Laptop wired into Sky fibre router. Connected wirelessly to Netgear WN2000RPT which is wired into PS3. (Gives faster speeds then standard PS3 wireless)

4. Using default MEncoder

5. When streaming MKV files to my PS3 I cannot get any form of subtitles to work. This is especially frustrating for the foreign speaking parts of films. The subtitles work fine on the files when played on my laptop through VLC player. I have tried starting the file from the transcode folder but this casuing the video to jump and skip as well as causing my transcode buffer to go through the roof!

7. Select on PS3 , top right says - Dolby digital 5.1 ch, 48khz, 634kbs, AVS , last box keeps changing.

8. Couldn’t get mediainfo to work

If you want someone to take a look, please follow the FAQs: reproduce the problem with one video (don't post a 20 minute session without description), and upload the MediaInfo dump or a sample video as requested.
