a/v out of sync

pc specs:
Win Xp sp2
3ghz proc
1 gig ram
wired connection


When trying to watch movies/shows on my ps3, almost always is the audio out of sync.

I've tried many of the already posted solutions (alternate a/v sync method ect ect) all with zero effect. It seems to happen with just about any file type, but mostly with .mkv .

I've also tried converting files into different types but it does not seem to help.

Any help will be appreciated.

I am also having this same problem with mkvs. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 server, 4GB, 3.4GHz C2D. I do not think that my problems are related to my server's hardware, but Bongfu's problem may be related to his computer performance, just a guess.

I recently switched from version (and PPA source) ~1.4 (obtained from paissad PPA) to version 1.7 (obtained from happy-neko PPA). Everything worked fine with version 1.4 from paissad and now the only thing different is a new PPA source and updated version.

Has anybody run into this and found any fixes?
